2. Does it need to be cooked?

No cooking, no heating. Beef jerky is 100% ready to eat, straight out of the bag.

3. What does it taste like?

4. Why is beef jerky so high in protein?

Because jerky is beef with most of the water removed. During dehydration, the beef loses around 55–60% of its weight as moisture is slowly removed, but the protein stays behind. That means every bag starts with more than twice as much beef as what you see at the end.
